I love it when they exceed the expectations set.
I mentioned yesterday that I was having problems signing on to Kobo. I used their chat help service and the incredibly friendly woman from Jamaica looked into it. She couldn’t solve the mystery of why I couldn’t get the login page to load, so she sent in a ticket to have someone higher up investigate.
She promised me they would get it sorted within 48 hours. It was less than 20 hours when I had an email from them with a link and a nice apology. Quality customer service is the sort of thing that sticks with me. I tend to tell everyone who will listen my stories and I’ll be shouting the praises of Kobo from the metaphorical rooftops (I don’t like heights) from here on out.
So, now I’m working on getting everything current on Kobo. It’s been quite a while since I used their interface and I don’t remember if it has changed or not. It’s almost like starting from scratch with the learning again.
That being said, I’ve just figured out how to change the covers. Henry Wood Detective Agency now has the sexy cover created by Aaron Wood.
Next is the uploading of the book. Again, I don’t remember if they took .mobi files the last time I uploaded, but they do now. That’s awesome because it’s the same type of file Amazon uses, so it means I don’t need to compile an .epub. I think I used .epub last time. It isn’t hard to compile in the other format, but I haven’t done it in a while, so I’d rather not have to try to remember how I pulled it off last time.
I just tried the .mobi and it didn’t work. Oh well, I guess I better go compile a .epub version.
There is a lot to do, so I think that will be all of my update for the evening.
