Some Saturdays I’m too tired to write much of a blog post.
This Saturday I’m too footballish to get it done. If you didn’t see the end of the game between number one Alabama and number four Auburn, you missed one heck of a finish.
The game was tied when the Alabama player ran out of bounds and it appeared the time had expired. I was mentally prepared for overtime, but ‘Bama was having none of it. They lobbied for one more second and when the replay showed his foot touchdown out of bounds, there was, in fact, one second left.
The Crimson Tide sent in their kicker to attempt a 57 yard game winner. In a brilliant coaching move the Auburn coach sent in his kick returner to stand in the end zone…just in case it was short.
The man from Auburn took off and 109 yards later, he crossed the goal line for the win. Alabama had a kicker, holder, and nine linemen in the game to try the field goal, and they were ill prepared to catch the speedy Auburn player.
I’m not a fan of either team. In this instance, though, I was rooting for Auburn. All I can say is, “Wow”.
In less interesting news, I sold my 1400th book this month a little while ago.
Now that I think about it, I am pretty tired. You’ll notice I couldn’t be bothered to look up any of the players names. Oh well, off to bed.
