The sports on TV was pretty fine, too. Rory McElroy won with his typical stellar play. Serena Williams won the U.S. Open in dramatic fashion. The NFL was played for real…no more of that silly pre-season stuff.
I’m a Bengals fan. They play tomorrow, so I watched other teams. The most interesting game for me was the Broncos vs. the Steelers. The Steelers are in the same division as the Bengals, so rooting against them is fun. The real draw was to see how Peyton Manning would do with his new team.
Peyton did well. He has been through all sorts of surgeries and didn’t play at all last year. He also got cut by the only professional team he had ever played for, the Indianapolis Colts. It had been a crushing blow, but the Broncos were happy to welcome him aboard. They chose wisely.
His rating for the evening was 129, which is outstanding, and he won. The Broncos have an amazing defense and it looks like the other side of the ball is going to be stellar, too. My loyalty lies in Cincinnati, but if I had to pick a team to win it all, I think I’d have to go with Denver.
I’m sort of itching to get back to the book, so I’ll end today’s rambling. My writing muses are musing, again. Have a great week. Hugs to all.
