Productive Napping

The nap was productive.  I had returned from my parents, where I’d spent the better part of two days doing exactly what I do at home, work on promoting my new book.  There were more signings booked and I even made a little bit of an effort to remind people about Henry Wood Detective Agency.

After the drive, I was drained.  There is so much to do, and yet, I just needed a break.  Sadly, my brain will not stop thinking about things I could do.  I started reading blogs about book promotion as soon as I got up.  I do feel like the nap did give me some energy, though.

I’ve got a list, which helps, but the one item I really need to scratch off, seems to be eluding me.  I need to get another section of Henry Wood: Time and Again, off to my editor Veronika.  She has been very patient.  I decided that if I admit its importance to everyone in blogville, then maybe I’ll get off my butt and get it to her tomorrow…or tonight…probably tomorrow.

I’ve also started to pay attention to Goodreads.  If you haven’t heard of Goodreads, it is worth checking out.  It is a social media community for people who like to read books.  Obviously, it is a good place to make friends, if one writes books, and I’ve barely given it any attention over the last 8 months or so.

The main thing people do is review books or have discussions about books.  Both are fun and as I do it more and more, I realize how helpful it could be for my Henry Wood Series.  If people talk about Henry Wood, then others might give him a read.

This reminds me of my other list item.  I need to write a blog piece that is an interview of one of my characters from Henry Wood, conducted by another character.  It should be fun.  I may give that a go tonight, and thus, put off sending out more Henry Wood to my editor.  I’m bad.

Sometimes, when the little grey cells are filling up, one just needs to nap.
