Let the games begin.  My little novel has his lunch, order pad, and a cute little briefcase, as I send him out on his first day.  He is nervous, but I’ve told him, he’ll be fine.  I’m just so proud of the little guy.

Henry looked up and asked, “Do you think they’ll like what I’m wearing?”  He checks his cover and isn’t sure.

Me, “You look very handsome.”

Henry, “Thanks.”  He grabs his lunch and runs out of the house.

Waving, “You have a great day Henry.  I’m sure you’ll make lots of new friends.”

He waves back as he runs to catch the bus.  I had to promise not to follow him, lest he get teased by the other new books.

I close the door, weeping just a little bit.  I’ve done all I can for him and now he needs to find his way in the world.  Well, maybe there are a few things I can do to help him on his way.  If you want to help, I’m sure he would appreciate it.
